AMA Recap: CRYPTO MINERS X GARI

Chingari app is a platform that makes ‘dreams come true’ for the young and aspiring global talents by helping them light their inner ‘talent ki Chingari’. With the rising tide of the ‘Make in India’ campaign, Chingari is proud to be the first ever truly Indian Short-Video Platform that was recognized with an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Award’. Chingari Platform is an extension of the Chingari ecosystem into the blockchain space. The goal is to empower both creators and viewers with technological and financial instruments to interact directly with each other and have control over the long-term direction of the social economy impacting the platform and the product.

We hosted an AMA session with Gari Network on 23rd January.

Mr. Ramsy was the host from Crypto Miners and Mr. Geek and Mr. Siddhant was the guests. They shared delightful knowledge and unique features of Gari Network.

First of all please give us a brief explanation about 'GARI NETWORK' .What popped up in your mind to create such a platform in this Space?

Siddhant Chowdhry:
Sure, I would love to answer this

Gari is Empowering Short Video Content Creators With Social Tokens.
The GARI Token introduces a gateway into the blockchain space, to Chingari App users. The goal is to empower both creators and viewers on the Chingari App with technological tools to interact directly with each other and allow all users on the Chingari App to participate in the long-term direction of the social economy impacting the GARI Token.

GARI is founded by Sumit Ghosh who is CEO as well. He was an engineer by education, started his career as a Cobol programmer with Tata Consultancy Services, moved to run an IT company post that, scaled it to $9m in revenues and then Chingari happened in 2020 around May-June. When TikTok was banned in India, we suddenly saw a huge surge in our user base. In Jan 2021, He came across web3 and DAOs and clearly saw them as the future of social media and the internet in general. That’s when we started working on GARI.

Q2) So what are your main features and advantages that discern you from other Projects?

Siddhant Chowdhry:
That's an interesting question. I will take this one

Gari is Empowering Short Video Content Creators With Social Tokens.The GARI Token is interconnected with the Chingari App, opening to Chingari App users a wider blockchain world where they directly control their assets and can use their tokens to connect and transact with their counterparties, place governance votes, and catalyze platform engagement and user base growth.

We will be soon introducing Social staking, you can stake other creators on Chingari App. Whatever the revenue the creator earns, one will get 7% profit out of it. We are the first one bringing up such feature.

The goal of gari is to give ownership, governance and a way of democratically uniformly earning back to creators. So imagine owning or being an early adopter of TikTok, or owning a stock or a stake in Facebook, how powerful is that. That is the vision behind Chingari. Chingari in general has a lot of potential. We as a social media company can get hundreds of millions of social media users into crypto. That is the big vision of Chingari.

Q3) How has the experience and background of your team been effective in the success of your project so far?

Geek:
Sure, I will take this one !

Well, in $GARI we have experienced team all from crypto background who understands the community, web3 and how to execute the plans and ideas which can be conveyed and understood by everyone even the Founder and CEO itself Sumit Ghosh !

This helped us to leverage our experience and skills to grow GARI and brining the cultural shift from web2.0 to web3.0.

Also, our product Chingari which is India top short video format app leading by 100mn download and more than 35mn monthly average users is led by brilliant team members who understand the creators and how to serve them so that they can join us with this shift from web2.0 !

All this together we have been able to build awesome community over the globe as This is because the Web3 space is built by the community, and for the community. We, at GARI, believe in a business model which leverages the power of community.

4) Now Share us about your Native tokens, What are the some of utlities of $GARI in Your Ecosystem? And if possible share to us the Tokenomics

Geek:
Sure, pretty good question !

GARI is deployed as an SPL token on the Solana blockchain to support cost-effective and fast on-chain transactions. Also, Solana is one of the most robust layer-1s in the industry, with an evolving community.

The GARI Token is interconnected with the Chingari App, opening to Chingari App users a wider blockchain world where they directly control their assets and can use their tokens to connect and transact with their counterparties, place governance votes, and catalyze platform engagement and user base growth.

The Utilities of $GARI are:

Tipping : Users can use the Gari tokens in their in-app Gari wallet to tip their favourite content creators directly from the video feed as well as from the Creator’s profile. These transactions are completely on-chain.

Meanwhile this is our tokenomics !

Boost : Creators will be able to boost their profile and posts to 100M+ chingari users, while making the payment for the service through $Gari.

Token Gated access: Gari holders can access exclusive content on Chingari platform by staking their tokens on creator pools.

NFTs: Chingari will be the world's biggest video NFT marketplace. These NFTs can only be purchased with $Gari tokens.

Governance: $Gari holders will be able to stake and earn yield as well as vote on proposals to decide the future direction of the platform.

this one is pretty interesting !

Audio Rooms Currency: Audio rooms is a feature on Chingari app, similar to clubhouse, where creators can connect with their followers over audio meetings. $Gari will be used by users to purchase gifts for these creators.

Q5) So how long did it take to develop this project? What plans do you have for the future? And what can we expect from GARI NETWORK? If possible could you please share road map with us.

Siddhant Chowdhry:
Sure, I will take this question

In Jan 2021, Our Founder Sumit Ghosh came across web3 and DAOs and clearly saw them as the future of social media and the internet in general. That’s when we started working on GARI.

We have a very exciting roadmap for 2022. The product will be integrated with the Chingari app and roll out by the end of this month. At the same time, it will also be getting listed in a couple of major exchanges.

Post that, there are a lot of product developments, we are coming out with Chingari audio rooms, just like Clubhouse where users will be incentivized to create rooms and be active in rooms with Gari tokens. There are a lot of NFT’s based use-cases that we are building, every video that you upload to Chingari will be mintable into a Solana based NFT, so imaging millions of users buying selling and trading NFT’s and this NFT marketplace alone will be a couple of million dollars a week in terms of revenue for Chingari.

I mean look at what Axie Infinity has done with their NFT marketplace in the Philippines. With just two million active users they are doing some 20–30 million dollars weekly.
We have more than 32+ Mn actively monthly users.
We definitely have a long way to go.

1)I see that Gari is somehow inspired from one of the largest social media video creating app which is TikTok. Tiktok depends on the views and shares for monetization. How about in Gari? Can you tell us how can we earn money in Gari: for Video Content Creators? and for Viewers?

Siddhant Chowdhry:
Yes, that's correct. Chingari is similar to Tiktok, the way creators make videos on Tiktok, similarly they can make videos on Chingari as well and earn Chingari Coins.

So, to bring more clarity, $GARI will be in-app currency inside Chingari app.
Chingari is the app and $GARI is the token. Soon, Chingari coins will be replaced by $GARI.
The creators and viewers will be able to earn $GARI in the app.

The creators can earn $GARI based on the number of views and comments on the video.
Infact, we will have play 2 earn, watch 2 earn and Engage to earn in the Chingari app.

2) The GARI Team in their whitepaper have mentioned the potential integration of NFTs in the project & ecosystem. What plans do they have for bringing in NFTs with use cases?

Siddhant Chowdhry:
That's a good question !
We are in the last leg of building up the NFT Marketplace. The NFTs will be a game changer, we are going beyond the space and doing something that never project has done so far.
We already have more than 100 MN downloads of Chingari app with more than 32+ mn active users, think what will happen when we introduce the NFTs to the audience of our Chingari App.
We are very positive about the launch, but certainly, at this point of time we cannot the use cases of NFT.

Ramsy:
3)Can you list 1-3 killer features of this project that makes it ahead of its competitors? What is the competitive advantage your project has that you feel most confident about?

Geek:
GARI is building a creator based economy where every creators or even audience can be part of this by DAO.

The goal of GARI is to give ownership, governance and a way of democratically uniformly earning back to creators.

Also, I shared some utility above such as Boosting, Token gated access, NFTs also our Audio room.

All this will be powered by our own social token $GARI 🙌🏻

Ramsy:
4)Collaborations and partnerships are some of the most important cornerstones to help improve adoption. Could you please tell us about the current partners, plans for partnerships and what everybody stands to gain from these partnerships?

Geek:
We have Salman Khan as our brand ambassador. Salman Khan is like the Brad Pitt of India, with more than 100 million followers across all social media platforms — Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. He is our brand ambassador and Chingari is one of the fastest-growing social media apps in India today. If you go to Google play store in India and check the top app on social you will find Chingari in the number 2 or number 3 app just before or after Facebook.

So we are growing really really fast as a social media app. We have partnerships across and for music, we have T — Series, Saregama all of the biggest music labels. A lot of Bollywood celebrities are on Chingari promoting their content and promoting their movies. We are basically taking the Bollywood angle where we involve Bollywood celebrities to promote Gari and Chingari. Most of them are already promoting Chingari and by default, we are promoting Gari as well.

5)As an investor, I want to know how strong is your project security system? and what benefits will a user have in the years to come when I decide to join the project you are working on right now?

Security is something even we are most cautious about.
We have got our project audited from one of the best audit company. We are built on Solana SPL chain, which is one of the most secure network.

As I have already explained about the feature such as Play 2 Earn, Watch 2 Earn & Engage 2 Earn. These are only some of the features which we will be integrating in the app.
As well as, we will soon integrating Wallet inside Chingari App, this will be a game changer. 32+Mn audience will be able to earn $GARI and Chingari Coins will vanish away.
We have a lot of things planned up, if you are a creator or you are someone who loves watching videos or someone who loves playing games, we will reward you for this.

1)ALHAMDULILLAH 7:
'STAKING'' is one of the STRATEGIES to ATTRACT USERS and HOLD Them long term. Does your GREAT PROJECT have plan about Staking??

Geek:
Gari tokens have staking features, so basically you can stake other creators. Let’s say I find a creator early in his journey and I stake my Gari tokens to him — these tokens go to a staking pool and the creator can take a loan from the stake pool and he can buy a better camera, better equipment, better clothes and become a better creator. One basically earns 7 percent of all of the revenue that this creator earns in future from the NFT and the creator economy flourishes. So if one of these videos goes viral and let’s say that NFT gets millions of dollars of trade in a month, the user will get 7 percent of that for staking him in his journey.

We are in the last leg of building up NFT Marketplace. It is going to have a lot many utilities, but since we are building it up, as of moment we cannot disclose the utilities before the launch.
