AMA Recap: CRYPTO MINERS X HISTORY DAO

History DAO is a decentralized application and digital art marketplace operating on the Ethereum blockchain. The History Platform uses specially-developed smart contracts that enable Artists to sell their digital creations to Collectors on a peer-to-peer digital marketplace. Collectors may trade, transfer, sell, or proudly display their collected History pieces on the History Platform.

We hosted an AMA session with History DAO on 11th April.

Mr. Ramsy was the host from Crypto Miners and Mr. Sky was the guest. He shared delightful knowledge and unique features of History DAO.

A little bit about myself:

I’m from the US, have previously worked with ByteDance (Tik Tok) and Lenovo in digital media and product marketing. I’ve been deeply involved in crypto since 2017, and am now full-time focused on the crypto industry.

1. Can you briefly introduce the HistoryDAO project?

Sky:
Happily ☺️

HistoryDAO is a first-of-its-kind platform for minting, trading, and collecting HistoryNFTs. You can mint HistoryNFTs as a single moment in history, or as a HistoryNFT series by uploading headlines, articles, text, and images to create HistoryNFTs. DAO features govern the project, award creators, and verify HistoryNFTs.

Basically, we’re revolutionizing the recording of history with blockchain technology. And we’re doing it with DAO governance, NFTs, and our incredible community.

2. What was the impetus for the creation of HistoryDAO? What are the pain points solved by the project?

Sky:
Yeah great question. It has to do with our philosophy.

Human history has always been written by the victors, so our historical records have always been imperfect, incomplete. The burning of the library of Alexandria made waste to countless historical records precious to humanity. Kings and queens and conquerors have always tried to eradicate important cultural world history.

With blockchain technology, history is written by everybody. All accounts are taken into consideration, and preserved forever, immutably, on the blockchain. And we believe that the many of us who participate in the recording of history should be rewarded and recognized fairly.

We’ve set out to create a platform with HistoryDAO that is for the people, by the people, and rewards the people who record history.

3. What are the functions of HistoryDAO?

Sky:
4 big features/functions of our project.

1. HistoryNFTs
2. HistoryNFT Series
3. NFT marketplace
4. DAO features

Users can mint HistoryNFTs on the HistoryDAO platform to record history via uploading media sources like headlines, articles, images, and more.

On the HistoryDAO marketplace users can buy, sell, and trade HistoryNFTs.

HistoryNFT Series let creators track a series of events, competitions, tournaments, elections and more with a collection of HistoryNFTs. These NFTs can then be sold/auctioned on the platform.

HistoryDAO’s DAO features include project governance, issuing official platform HistoryNFTs, verifying HistoryNFTs, and weekly/monthly award voting.

4. Compared to other NFT projects, what are the advantages of HistoryDAO?

Sky:
Good question. HistoryDAO is a pretty unique NFT project in that it captures and records current and historical events. We haven’t seen anything like it. It’s user-focused, where project governance, voting, NFTs, etc. all come from the community. So instead of us dropping a collection, determining rarity and value…all that is decided by the HistoryDAO community.

We’re trying to do something really big here. Imagine the use cases for HistoryDAO in the metaverse, all this history recorded on the blockchain. That data can be pulled for metaverse newspapers, books, war games, and a whole lot more.

Ramsy:
5. How about asset security and privacy issues? Does the HistoryDAO platform have any specific protection measures for these?

Sky:
Sure. While HistoryNFT multimedia files are stored on the Filecoin blockchain for maximum accessibility and reduced fees, we leverage the security of the Ethereum network for storing our metadata. Essentially, the media files point to hashes on Ethereum, where NFTs assets are virtually uncompromisable.

Ramsy:
6. How can users participate in and benefit from the HistoryDAO platform?

Sky:
All our features are user-centric. Specifically, you can mint HistoryNFTs on the platform, trade/buy/sell HistoryNFTs on the marketplace, and issue HistoryNFT series if you’re really ambitious. We’re excited to see what you all come up with!

DAO features are another big one. Users can participate in important DAO features like project governance and community voting.

Beyond that, just being an active part of our community across our Twitter, Discord, and TG channels is a great way to participate in and benefit from the HistoryDAO platform. We have giveaways, AMA, NFT whitelist events, and more that benefit active community members directly.

7. Where is the concept of DAO in HistoryDAO embodied? Can you specify this?

Sky:
All of what the HistoryDAO platform does is community ran, community organized, and beneficial for the community. HistoryDAO’s DAO features include project governance, issuing official platform HistoryNFTs, weekly/monthly NFT award voting, and verifying HistoryNFTs.

With so many HistoryNFTs being minted on the platform, we’ve created ways to push the best content to the forefront through award voting and issuing of official HistoryNFTs by the community. It’s also important to us that the historical information recorded in HistoryNFTs is accurate, so we’ve included voting provisions to nullify HIstoryNFTs and remove them from the platform, should a large majority of community members vote in favor of removing those NFTs.

Ramsy:
8. How is the HistoryDAO project progressing so far? What are the major milestones?

Sky:
Yeah, important question here. We’ve built out the platform over the course of the end of last year, and have recently launched the HistoryNFT mint and HistoryNFT Series features in Q1 of 2022. Our marketing efforts are bringing in big names to talk about our project like Kevin Kelly, chief editor and founder of Wired magazine.

9. What’s in store for the HistoryDAO project?

Sky:
Last one! Glad we’ve got the open question segment next ha, I’m quite enjoying this and excited to speak with the Crypto Miner community directly.

Development of the marketplace is currently underway and going swimmingly. In Q2 and Q3 of 2022 we’ll be launching DAO features and expanding our current HistoryNFT mint and HistoryNFT Series functions.

Also, look out for more huge collaborations with these kinds of critical role-players who have shaped and recorded massive moments in human history. We’re aiming to collaborate with major sports teams and organizations, talent contest producers, eSports organizations, and election campaigns record current events as they happen and make HistoryDAO the go-to platform for recording current events and history.

Sky:

Honestly? Yes, very very much. I studied History and Literature at university, I spend a lot of time reading, I’m a huge fan of basketball and play often. And those are just a tiny amount of the incredible men and women from history.

Did you hear about Naomi Osaka joining FTX to promote getting more women into crypto? That’s big history to me. Or what about James Jeter joining Ralph Laurent to launch an all-Black creative campaign?

Huge historical moments are happening daily. Now with HistoryDAO, you can go and mint those moments directly as HistoryNFTs. Trade, buy, sell on the HistoryDAO marketplace, and become a recorder and legend of History.

Sky:

1) An oracle of history in the metaverse
2) The ultimate platform for recording history with sports and eSports organizations, major tv and movie networks, art and history museums, legendary living makers of history
3) An enormous, community-driven platform current and historical events
4) And all the other beautiful things we’ll see from our community

Can you list 1–3 killer features of your Project that makes it ahead of its competitors? What is the competitive advantage your platform has that you feel most confident about?

Sky:
We haven’t seen anything like this before. That’s why it’s so exciting.

Lots of NFT collections are launched by a company, with very specific guidelines for what makes them rare, valuable, etc. But what actually makes a successful NFT project is its community.

HistoryDAO is governed by its community. Its NFT content is created by the community. Great HistoryNFTs are awarded and showcased on the platform according to community voting. So it’s got to be:

1) HistoryNFT minting
2) DAO Features like project governance, community voting, verifying HistoryNFTs
3) Our kick-ass community

4) Satish Kumar:
Security is the weakness of any project anytime hackers can attack and create huge losses for users and owners? So what steps did your project take to prevent this kind of attack? And how do you control the risk?

Sky:
Yes, great question. We’re currently in the process of working with auditors to catch bugs and analyze risks with our development. User privacy and security is a big key. We’ve seen some of the recent hacks in the industry and understand how vital it is to go through the auditing process.

5) Rene:
Does HistoryDao have platform tokens? i.e fungible tokens

Sky:

The current working name for the platform token is HIST, and is scheduled to start development towards the end of Q2. Stay tuned for more details!
