3) In 2021, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are already taking the world by storm. The massive growth of the NFT market not only surprised people in the cryptocurrency industry, but it was also mentioned more often by the mainstream media. Unlike more complex concepts such as DeFi, the general public can intuitively understand NFTs and the digital collectibles they represent. NFTs are likely to become not only the greatest blockchain product the cryptocurrency industry has been waiting for, but also one that would be widely available to the public.so We keep hearing about NFT, but what exactly is it?

To put it simply

an NFT is a token with a unique identifier and additional parameters that allow you to store part of its information

This unique identifier makes the token irreplaceable

Additional information can be any information such as text, images, audio and video files

Unlike fungible cryptocurrencies, NFTs are unique and not fungible

In the past few years, we have witnessed the rise of immaterial and homogenized tokens such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more

These items are intangible because they exist in a form that can neither be felt or touched, not unlike your Instagram account that exists only in digital form

With the rise of smart contract platforms such as Ethereum, the technology now exists to create non-fungible tokens (NFTs)

Examples of NFTs include crypto avatars such as CryptoPunks and Bored Apes, and even masterpieces from prominent artists like Tom Sach

However, you cannot easily trade NFTs because no two NFTs are the same

Each NFT has its unique identifier and characteristics, thus making each of them different from one another, even if they do appear similar on the surface

Also, NFTs cannot be divided into smaller pieces like traditional cryptocurrencies

For example, Bitcoin is divisible up to 8 decimal places

Therefore, NFTs often lack liquidity and are difficult to sell because they have to be bought in full

4) Now that everybody learns what NFTs are, we must all be interested in its history. Now let us welcome XXX to introduce the history of NFTs.

When it comes to the development history of NFT, we have to talk about MEME

Early NFTs and MEMEs are inseparable

In September 2017, Github contributor Dieter Shirley proposed ERC-721 to standardize the token standard for unique tokens

Within the same proposal, the term NFT was coined

The new standard was later utilized by CryptoKitties, It was the first project based on ERC-721

Afterwards, many NFT Projects took to using the ERC-721 standard. Before the birth of the ERC-721 protocol, old NFTs such as CryptoPunks are based on the derivatives of ERC-2 and are considered hybrids even till this day

The later derived ERC-1155 protocol is commonly regarded as a semi-permanent standard, and is mostly used to solve the problem of excessive gas in the production of NFTs

The 2020-2021 cryptocurrency bull market has also helped usher the NFT craze

Crypto natives are looking for ways to assert their status and wealth online, especially on Twitter, Discord and Reddit
